How To Freeze Boxed Boxed Christmas Cookies
That day or the next day or two after baking, most cookies taste best. In the event that you can’t eat all twelve in 24 hours, fear not! You may store them for later use! Once the cookies are cool, lay them out in a single layer on a sheet pan that has been lined with parchment paper. Put them in freezer-safe bags or containers with labels and freeze for an hour or two. Once they are solid, move them to the freezer. It’s possible to freeze them for one month, but the longer they stay there, the less fresh they taste. I try to keep them there for a week. The night before you serve them, put them in the fridge.Cream cheese cookies or bars don’t always freeze as well. There have been mixed results for me. I’ve frozen cream cheese bars and they thawed perfectly, but sometimes freezing them has made them a little different in texture. If you frost or glaze cookies, they don’t always freeze well. The glaze can get wavy and lose its shine in the fridge. I think you should freeze the cookie base and then glaze them when they are no longer frozen.
How To Freeze Cookie Dough
It’s possible to freeze most cookie doughs, but keep in mind that it will take longer to bake cookies made with frozen dough. Because they were frozen, the middle of bigger or thicker cookies will need more time to bake, making the corners darker. Take the cookie dough and roll it into balls as directed. Then, put the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze them completely. Once the dough is completely frozen, put the balls in a freezer-safe bag. You can keep dough in the fridge for up to one month.*Please note that I haven’t yet tried freezing the red velvet cookies with cream cheese swirls. I’ll be trying this week and making the necessary changes.
Giving And Storing Boxed Christmas Cookies
A lot of people like to send cookies as gifts or bring them on long trips. Here are some things to keep in mind if you want to do that: You shouldn’t mail cookies that are easily broken or that need to be kept cold. Choose cookies that are strong, like shortbread, that will last for a long time or bar cookies that don’t break easily.Put the cookies in a container that won’t let air in. Then, put that container inside a mailable box that has bubble wrap or something else inside to keep the cookies from moving around.
