Hijama Equipment Maintenance

Keeping your cups, pumps and kits in clinic-ready condition for the long term.

While cups for wet cupping are strictly single-use, your suction pumps and storage kits require regular maintenance to ensure longevity and hygiene.

Suction Pump Care

Your manual suction pump is the workhorse of your clinic. To keep it functioning smoothly:

  • Wipe Down: Sanitize the handle and barrel with an alcohol wipe between every client.
  • Lubrication: If the pull-action becomes stiff, apply a tiny drop of mineral oil or Vaseline to the internal rubber O-ring to restore smooth suction.
  • Avoid Fluids: Never allow water, oil, or bodily fluids to enter the nozzle of the pump, as this will destroy the vacuum seal mechanisms.

Always keep a backup pump in your clinic. Pumps undergo significant mechanical stress and will eventually need replacing.
